This is a new addition to my annual review series: thanking my helpers for the year! I tried my absolute best to capture the behind-the-scenes including my incredible assistants from each session. I definitely failed at a few... I'm so sorry Katie Schols, lol. She helped me at 3 sessions and I didn't get a picture of her at any of them! Every year I sit down to write this blog post and I think, "this was the best year ever!" For 8 years, each one has just gotten better and better, and I couldn't be more grateful. I have the absolute best clients, friends, and models who have the most perfect horses, take me to the coolest locations, and enjoy the most gorgeous sunsets with me.

I spent 7 days at the magical wonderland of Ant's Reserve in South Africa with Yoalis and Tony (plus my husband, mom, and 3rd grade teacher and her partner... we had the best group ever) and we're all already dreaming of going back. Anthea Teska & her Thoroughbred gelding, Mason, photographed in Saratoga, Wyoming. Anthea has been riding her whole life. She did Pony Club, 4-H, Huntseat, Saddleseat, trail, horse bowl, horse judging, hippology... if it's horse-related, she will be there! Her biggest achievement with Mason is taking him off the track and making him into a hunter horse. She's owned him since he was 3. He grew up on the track, but was deemed too slow, so he never raced! Karen Griffith & her two perfect boys, Black Jack and Ash, photographed in Cashmere, WA. It was only 10 years ago that Karen decided she wanted a horse. That soon turned into living in a tiny home connected to a barn and indoor arena. She got Ash first, the handsome grey Arabian. Black Jack came next, and has been her go to horse for everything. Michelle Parker & Ivy (Mann Im Blonde), photographed at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars in Spokane, WA. Ivy is only 3 years old, but she handled being in a new setting all by herself like a seasoned pro. Michelle purchased Ivy as a yearling from Kelsey Masterson and has high hopes for their future together. She plans to show her at the ABRA World Show next year. I can't wait to cheer them on!

Emily & Garrett Thurner, one of the coolest couples I know, photographed at their ranch in Wynnewood, OK. Garrett is the owner and trainer at GT Performance Horses, producing top level reiners and cutters. I had such a fun morning with them while they worked cows and spun around on their reiners!
